What makes Seraphina Safety Apparel unique in the protective apparel industry
Founder's Story
In 2018, while attending the PRI Expo to support her son’s drag racing aspirations, Kelly Franko met up with top fuel driver, Ashley Sanford, who she had previously fitted for bras when she had her intimate apparel boutique. While meeting at the Lincoln Electric booth, a member of their team asked Kelly about her ability to create flame-resistant bras for women in welding and other industrial occupations, as well as motorsports. Kelly’s husband, Mark, immediately knew that she could do so and encouraged her to pursue the idea, and Seraphina Safety Apparel was born.
Kelly’s previous experience in healthcare and 10+ years in the undergarment industry provided the necessary background for the beginnings of her research and product development. She spent 2019 designing and perfecting the fit of her original “Core 4” product line. Despite setbacks caused by COVID-19, Kelly used the time to expand her line to include additional FR Tech™ products for men and women.
